DECLARATION OF
Automotive Heritage Month
June 19, 2018

WHEREAS the National Association of Automotive Clubs of Canada is celebrating July as “Automotive Heritage Month; and

WHEREAS the National Association of Automotive Clubs of Canada strives to restore and preserve Canada’s rich history and heritage; and

WHEREAS the first automobile in Canada was brought to Prince Edward Island in 1865 by Father Belcourt; and

WHEREAS automotive enthusiasts and hobbyists share their appreciation of the hobby while contributing to the economic, social and cultural benefit of Islanders;

WHEREAS Automotive Heritage Month celebrations will contribute to the vibrancy of communities across Canada, and raise funs for worthy charities that will benefit PEI communities;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT I, the Honourable Paula Biggar, Minister of Transportation, Infrastructure and Energy, do hereby proclaim the month of July as “Automotive Heritage Month” for the Province of Prince Edward Island.
