Arizona Concours 2024

The 6th annual Arizona Concours d’Elegance took place January 22-24 in the beautiful Scottsdale Civic Center during Car week in Scottsdale Arizona.

This year the Arizona Concours featured “The Art of Automotive Design” to show the development of engineering & design over 120 years of the automobile. Also, you will see the 60 years of design by Lamborghini & two entire classes of individually designed custom builds.

The cars were displayed on the beautiful grounds of the Scottsdale Civic Center and judged by 50+ very experienced Canadian and American Concours judges. This year the Concours was honoured to have David Steele of the America Hot Rod Foundation as a Judge.

The Concours celebrated “The Art of Automotive Design” with cars like the 1906 Stevens Duryea, 1933 Stutz DV32 Convertible, 1936 Packard 1108 Twelve Sport Phaeton, 1938 Jaguar SS-100, 1956 Buick Century X right to Lamborghini, 1967 Shelby King Cobra. Customs like the 1936 Packard Mulholland Speedster, 1938 Lincoln Zephyr by Boyd Coddington and several American Hot Rods from 1932 – 34 and many other vehicles to celebrate automotive Design & Engineering.

Also, to celebrate the 60 years of Lamborghini there was a stunning display of 9 vehicles ranging from 1965 3500 GTZ, 1965 350GT, 1967 Miura, a 25th Anniversary Countach, 1994 30th Anniversary Diablo, 40th Anniversary Murcielago. These were topped off by a 2004 Gallardo, 2016 Aventador & a 2016 Huracan Spider. Just a beautiful display to celebrate their 60th Anniversary.

There were many, many beautiful vehicles on display from all eras. I was personally impressed with the Carriages & Brass Era cars, and also the 1930’s American & European. Although it would be very hard to pick a favourite I think my personal favourite would be the 1936 Packard 1108 Twelve Sport Phaeton (the “Hussey”) which is just one of the amazing cars from the Nethercutt Collection in California.
