Unfair GST / PST in BC
The BC Government is going to increase the sales tax on the private sale of used vehicles. The government is being deceptive in their approach.  Before the HST came in there was 7% PST charged on the private sale of a used vehicle or a collector car.
I urge you to contact your BC MLA and the Premier to voice your strong opposition to this ‘new tax’. Go to www.leg.bc.ca please click on ‘Members’ and make your views known now!

Gord Forman has once again gone above and beyond to provide a new Forum for all those interested in our Automobile Hobby. Check it out here... NAACC Forum>>

Dec 01, 2011
The NAACC has installed this as another service to our member clubs. It's purpose is to provide a common place to go for all hobbyists and Directors to see what the "news, views and chews" are in each province.

It is organized by province and one heading for general, or national, "news, views or chews".

Spurred into life when Manitoba had such a bad summer of rumours that seemed to be fueled by misinformation found on websites that were not in the least knowledgeable. As most provinces are like MB and the clubs wouldn't even be successful if there was more than one website trying to do this, NAACC has taken it on because we can cover all of Canada.

Go to http://naacc.ca/naacforum/forum.php  and look around after you've signed up. This is for you.

Regards,
Gord Forman

URGENT REGULATORY ALERT (UPDATE)
EPA Denies E15 Waiver for Pre-2001 Cars, Permits Use in Newer Cars
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency confirmed that there is insufficient test data to permit E15 to be used in MY 2000 and older light-duty motor vehicles.  The SEMA Action Network (SAN) has consistently voiced concern that ethanol increases water formation which can then create formic acid and corrode metals, plastics and rubber.  While the SAN is pleased with the decision that older cars should not be fueled with E15, the association is disappointed that the EPA issued an E15 waiver for 2007 and newer vehicles.

Brought to you by Gord Forman the NAACC Director of Manitoba
This could be a serious concern for all Provinces as it prevents a ‘collector car’ that has been in an accident and is written off from being put back on the road after that accident.  This pertains to ‘ALL’ pre 1995 vehicles.
Gordon Forman, Manitoba NAACC Director, is challenging this legislation and is asking for an exemption for collector vehicles.

Good News for the Collector Vehicle Hobby in Canada

The (NAACC) National Association of Automobile Clubs of Canada has entered into a formal working partnership with the Historical Vehicle Association (HVA). The HVA is the newly formed North American voice of the collector vehicle hobby in both Canada and the USA. Hagerty Insurance has graciously provided the funding necessary to make this happen. The NAACC was invited to partner with the HVA and has a voting Board position. The NAACC is also an ‘official member’ of FIVA - World Governing Body of Motor Vehicles and also has a voting Board position. This means that all NAACC members are now also members of the HVA and FIVA.

The details were worked out between the NAACC and the HVA on November 17, 2009 in Traverse City Michigan. There will be more details to follow.
